“Healthy Ageing: Empowering Seniors for Better Living” in Conjunction with World Physiotherapy Day 2025 – 20 September 2025

2) To promote healthy ageing and preventive care.

Event Info:
The Centre for Research on Non-Communicable Disease (CRNCD), in collaboration with the Department of Physiotherapy, successfully organized an event in conjunction with the World Physiotherapy Day Celebration. The program was held on 20/09/2025, with a total of 30 participants in attendance.

Morning Session: Free Health Screening (9.00 am onwards)
Participants were given the opportunity to undergo comprehensive health screening assessments, supported by DanMedik (Malaysia) and AndanteFit (South Korea).

The screening included:
1) Frailty Assesment
2) Pulmonary Function Testing
3) Physical Performance Tests
4) Balance Assessment
5) Hand-Eye Coordination Assessment

Afternoon Session: Educational Health Talks
A series of informative health talks was conducted, focusing on different aspects of healthy ageing and preventive care:

1) Mind Matters: Caring for Your Mental Health in Later Years – Mr. Kok Wai Tay
2) Eat Your Way to a Golden Age: Unlocking Health at Every Stage – Dr. Anto Cordelia Tanislaus Antony Dhanapal, Department of Chemical Science
3) Breathe Easy: Keeping Your Lungs Strong as You Age – Ms. Muniswari Nandhini A/P Ravi (PhD Student)
4) Stay Steady, Stay Safe: Tips to Improve Your Balance – Ms. Puspamalar (Master Student)

The program concluded at 4.00 pm, followed by a group photo session with participants, organizers, and speakers.
